High Speed Line in the Works for Florida

This is huge for Florida, and with Stimulus Money sitting idle, there is a good chance this one will fly (or rail). Governor Crist submitted Florida's proposal for a high speed line to the federal government on October 2nd. The proposed rail line would run between Tampa, Orlando and Miami. The first leg of the line is the Tampa to Orlando route at at cost of $2.5 billion. The Miami extension is estimated to cost at least $8 billion. If the federal government approves the first leg, it could be operational by 2014. The propsed start date for the Miami line would be 2017.

These are the kinds of projects Florida needs to ensure growth and the ability to attract new businesses. For the Treasure Coast it means high speed travel to Miami, Orlando and the Gulf Coast of Tampa. I can't wait.

Foreclosure Deals in Port St. Lucie as Florida Struggles with Foreclosure Backlog

Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Jennifer Bailey was recently quoted as saying the biggest challenge the system faces is "to keep morale up." In 2006 Miami-Dade saw 3,474 foreclosure cases. For the first six months of this year, they have handled 34,417.

That's not a misprint. The scary part is the first three months of this year, bankers were under a wink-wink order from Captain Obama to hold off on foreclosures . . . as if that would somehow help matters. It has not. In fact, Miami-Dade could see more than 50,000 foreclosures during the last six months of 2009, bringing the total close to 100,000 or almost 30 times what it was in 2006.

And this is not just Miami-Dade. The Port St. Lucie market and the Martin County market are facing similar issues.

OPPORTUNITY - Banks are so screwed up at this point, that most of them are either over pricing properties, hoping for a miracle, or they are under-pricing properties . . . leaving HUGE opportunities for first time buyers, relocating buyers, investors and flippers. If you're interested in foreclosure opportunities, call me - Mike Morgan at 888-227-5217 or email me Mike@FloridaHomes.pro I'll help steer you around the traps and into profitable and secure opportunities.

Film School and Studio Discussing Partnership in Port St. Lucie

Florida State University's award winning film school is in discussions to partner with a Hollywood spin-off of a digital production group. Wyndcrest Holdings LLC is trying to tie up the loose ends on a deal that will create a 150,000 square foot facility within the Tradition development in Port St. Lucie.

The new Wyndcrest company would be working on animated feature films and video games. Another division of the company would be working on military projects concentrating on combat simulations.

This is another example of how much potential there is in the Tradition area of Port St. Lucie. The bio-tech industry is already started at Tradition and promises to be a very bright spot for high paying jobs and for the growth of support companies to the institute.
